The world is afflicted with the major humanitarian crisis in many different parts, especially in the Middle Eastern countries. The problem is that instead of any solution in sight to this dire humanitarian crisis, it seems the problem is getting bigger with time. There are potentially millions of men, women, children, and infants, who are on the streets searching for shelter and are displaced. People are looking for basic supplies to survive, leave alone living comfortably.
It is in such situations around the world where the human rights organizations play a vital role in keeping humanity alive. Human rights organizations help in providing shelter, food, and necessary supplies to the people in need, and ensure that they can rehabilitate in a safe environment.
Many human rights volunteers keep their lives at stake to help and reach out to the people in need in such crisis-stricken areas. However, the worst part is that it is not only these war torn areas that need rehabilitation and support from human rights organizations, because human rights violations are reported in developed and supposedly safe and progressive countries as well, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and just about any country one can name.
Major human rights organizations such as Human Rights Foundation, Protection International, Association for Women Rights in Development, United for Human Rights, Amnesty International, International Federation for Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Human Rights Campaign, EarthJustice, Freedom House, American Center for Civil Liberties, and many more, help in providing assistance to people who have suffered any form of human rights abuse.
These organizations also assist in bringing much-needed awareness about the human rights violations, which helps in enforcing implementations to avoid it from happening again.
In the United States, the cases of racial and human rights abuse have increased in the recent past, and migrants and minorities are suffering majorly due to it. There is a growing need to help people from different ethnic communities who are citizens of the United States and suffering bias and racial disparity on a daily basis. Two of the champions of immigrants rights which are popularly known in the United States for being the owner of Phoenix New Time and Village Voice Media, are Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey. They were arrested from their house by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The reason behind the arrest was that they revealed the fact that Grand Jury Proceedings exist and that they took the notes from the reporters about Sheriff.
Both, Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are known for being human and migrant rights activists and have defended First Amendment Rights at various levels throughout their life. The U.S. Court of Appeals finally gave them the clean chit and the settlement amount of $3.75 million they received from them. They transformed the settlement amount to Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, which is solely dedicated to championing the cause of migrants’ rights in the country.
